This album was conceived as a story to be listened to from beginning to end. It begins with an elegy to my brother, then goes on to explore this journey we take through life – the glory and joy, the bitterness and doubt, the remembering, the connection. It ends, as it must, with love, just that, that carries us on its wings into the world.

This album, written over a period of about three years, explores a number of the different influences to my musical style - gospel, folk, Americana, Scottish. Like a river, they all make their way back to the beauty of the world and to love.

This album explores the mystery of love - finding it, losing it, sharing it. Some of the songs began as poems that found a melody. Others began as a melody that found words.

This album is the result of a solo, five-month journey through Central America. The songs tell some of the stories of that journey.
