Lyrics

Her name was Maria, I met her in a Laundromat. I like to think it was because of my lucky hat. She was folding some socks, and I was folding mine. I went up and asked her if she happened to know the time, and she said.

It’s the winter solstice
So why don’t we make the most of it
It’s the winter solstice
So why don’t we, get toasted

We went outside for a walk but it started to rain. We got drenched to the bone and headed back to change. We took off our shirts and our pants and put them in to dry. I asked her what temperature and she said, make it high.

Chorus

We stood there in our underwear and watched the clothes go round. Thank god it was winter break and no one was in town. She told me she liked fine things and laughed at all my jokes.
I told her I just bought some weed and now I was broke.

Chorus

We went back to her place, she poured me some wine. I rolled a big fat doobie and told her she looked fine. We talked until two and then she said it’s time for bed. I thought that sounded like a song, so that’s what I said.

Chorus

Her name was Maria, I called her the next day. I asked if she wasn’t busy could she come out and play. That was just the first of many days I had with her. To think it started with socks on the longest night of the year.

Chorus
