    Come Say Goodbye

Daylights dawning, there’s a trace of snow
My bags are all packed, as you already know
Come and hold me once more before I go
Come and hold me once more before I go

I’ll be home again, when God is willing
Come say goodbye, baby don’t you cry

I’ve been thinking about the things I leave behind
How I take for granted, what is there all the time
Guess I’m leaving, to see what I can find
Guess I’m leaving, to see what I can find

I’ll be home again, when God is willing
Come say goodbye, baby don’t you cry

Come to the orchard in spring. There is light
and wine and lovers in the pomegranate flowers
If you do not come, these do not matter.
If you do come, these do not matter.

Daylights dawning, there’s a trace of snow
My bags are all packed, as you already know
Come and hold me once more before I go
Come and hold me once more before I go

I’ll be home again, when God is willing
Come say goodbye, baby don’t you cry
Come say goodbye, baby don’t you cry

    Down the Road

Got no wallet and got no keys, got no responsibility
What I own is on my back, what I know don’t mean jack
I’m headed down the road for a while, you can tell by my big fat smile
If you come along, you can smile too.

Headed into Mexico, have a couple of tostados
Then it’s on into Belize, where I can do what I damn well please
I’m headed down the road for a while, you can tell by my big fat smile
If you come along, you can smile too.

Look for me in Guatemala, where I will do the cha cha cha
Then it’s on to El Salvador, you’ll have to peel me from the floor
I’m headed down the road for a while, you can tell by my big fat smile
If you come along, you can smile too.

In Nicaragua you will see, what I can do when I am free
The only thing that will hold me back is what I got in my bank account
I’m headed down the road for a while, you can tell by my big fat smile
If you come along, you can smile too.

Got no wallet and got no keys, got no responsibility
What I own is on my back, what I know don’t mean jack
I’m headed down the road for a while, you can tell by my big fat smile
If you come along, you can smile too.

    Once More

Once more I go down this road
Alone again my heart and soul

I was certain as certain could be
That our love would go on
That was just the first of many things
    I had wrong

Once more I go down this road
Alone again my heart and soul
Alone again my heart and soul

You told me that you wanted to make
The whole world be your home
You told me that you wanted to
    Do it alone

Once more I go down this road
Alone again my heart and soul

There is a tiger that paces and roams
    All alone by my door
Some day I hope to tell you what
    He’s waiting for

Once more I go down this road
Alone again my heart and soul
Once more I go down this road
Alone again my heart and soul

    Argentina

    Headin’ down to Argentina
Fell in love with a senorita
Met her in my tango classes
Said I needed lots of practice

Asked her to be my private tutor
If she thought that would suit her
She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

I went out to her casita
    Lookin’ like a real tourista
    1500 Calle De Oro
Down a street that’s straight and narrow

Met the parents, met the nieces
Gave them gifts of Reese's pieces
She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

Took her home in a private taxi
    She was lookin’  mighty sexy
She lived with her Uncle Jesus
    God almighty he was useless

Spent the day in his silk pajamas
    Eating toast and green bananas
She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

    Waited for the right occasion
When I might pop the question
Said she had to think it over
    Wasn’t what I was expectin’

Told her that I’d see her later
Then went out for some cerveza
She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

She's the one that I've been looking for
I want to be her goodwill ambassador.

    Headin’ home from Argentina
    All alone, no senorita

    En Este Viaje

En este viaje, no puedo creer
Que cada dia, es mejor que ayer
Que cada dia, es mejor que ayer

A mis amigos, que he hecho
Yo doy la gracias, y los quiero
Yo doy la gracias, y los quiero

Yo sé siempre, vamos a compartir
El sentimiento que al dentro vivir
El sentimiento que al dentro vivir

On this journey I can’t believe
Each day is better than the day before
To my friends that I have made
I give my thanks and my love
I know we will always share
    The feelings that live inside

En este viaje, no puedo creer
Que cada dia, es mejor que ayer
Que cada dia, es mejor que ayer

    Romero

His name was Romero, he was a simple priest
Marrying the children of the rich, saying blessings for their feasts
He saw the rich had everything, no dream was too small
He saw the poor had to fight each day, for anything at all

    Dios mio, escuche me
Da me fuerza, y di me porque

He said to them just look around, this doesn’t have to be
Give each man a piece of land, it will set us all free
This wasn’t what they wanted to hear, from their simple priest
Who was he to say to them, be gracious to the least

    Dios mio, escuche me
Da me fuerza, y di me porque

One day as he stood in church, amidst the bread and wine
Two bullets pierced his heart, to keep him in line
The blood of Romero spread out across the floor
A cry went up across the land, a wind blew at the door

    Dios mio, escuche me
Da me fuerza, y di me porque

The war lasted many years, finally the madness stopped
Each man with a piece of land, went back to planting crops
I suppose you are wondering, was it worth all the pain
We still have the rich and poor, looks pretty much the same
But something is different now, down in El Salvador
There is a new hero, they call him Romero

    Dios mio, escuche me
Da me fuerza, y di me porque
God of mine, here my cry
Give me strength, and tell me why

    Fell in Love

I was walking down the street one day
Minding my business, going my way
When I caught from the corner of my eye
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky

I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart
I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart

I was standing in line for some food
    Out of my regular neighborhood
When I caught from the corner of my eye
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky

I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart
I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart

I was looking through an old magazine
Thinking about places still left to see
When I caught from the corner of my eye
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky
A hint of your smile like a light in the sky

I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart
I fell in love like a lightning bolt
And the thunder sprang from my heart

    Cold Feet

I tend to write about the things that I know
    Maybe you can relate
I’ve been married and single in equal measure in my life
I guess you could call it fate

I am nearly 60 years old
My feet are kind of cold
My eyes are as blue as the sky
My hair is as white as the snow

I’m out there again on the singles scene
    I can tell you it’s a fright
The kind of women who seem to want my company
Charge by the hour or extra for the night

I am nearly 60 years old
My feet are kind of cold
My eyes are as blue as the sky
My hair is as white as the snow

Sometime I’ll go and hang out in a bar
Just troll my line for a strike
I’ve learned there are some things you don’t want to say
To a woman you think you might like

Like, I’ve seen every episode of Star Trek
    That has ever been made
Or you remind me of my ex-wife
Or, I’m just here looking to get laid

I am nearly 60 years old
My feet are kind of cold
My eyes are as blue as the sky
My hair is as white as the snow

Now I don’t have to be a rocket scientist
To see the writing on the wall
The women in their 30s, they look good to me
They don’t see me at all

So I’ve learned to just enjoy myself
And find pleasure where I may
If love comes along, well that’s just great
If not, I’ll have a nice day

I am nearly 60 years old
My feet are kind of cold
My eyes are as blue as the sky
My heart is as good as gold

    We Believe

You believe you’ve got to work for everything in life
I believe things come to you as long as you do right
You believe you’ve got to fight no matter what the cost
I believe we must have peace or everything is lost
    or everything is lost

We believe two different things as different as they can be
We’ve got to find a way we can live in harmony

You believe in destiny, in being your own man
I believe in community, you lend a helping hand
You believe that all you see is part of a design
I believe that what you seek is what you’re gonna find
    is what you’re gonna find

We believe two different things as different as they can be
We’ve got to find a way we can live in harmony

You believe in God above, the devil down below
I believe that God resides in everything we know
You believe this country is the best in all the land
I believe no borders should lie between our fellow man
    between our fellow man

We believe two different things as different as they can be
We’ve got to find a way we can live in harmony

You believe, I believe, We believe, We shall see
We’ve got to find a way we can live in harmony

    Reckless Heart

You will have two sons he said
He could see it in the lines in my hand
I could see the wind in his eyes
How could he know the plan

Reckless heart, keep falling in love
Reckless dreams I keep thinking of

Love will find you late in your life
    After many trials and pain
Your sun and moon is too afflicted
    You will lose your flame

Reckless heart, keep falling in love
Reckless dreams I keep thinking of

Speak to your fire he said
Tell it all your hopes and cares
Keep a candle burning by your side
    It will lead you there

Reckless heart, keep falling in love
Reckless dreams I keep thinking of

I have had two sons like he said
I have found my share of pain
Life is just a mirror to myself
    A lesson to learn again

Reckless heart, keep falling in love
Reckless dreams I keep thinking of

    Now I Am Old

I fell in love with a girl, her name was Cindy
She loved the country and I, I loved the city
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, what a pity

We had a son and we gave him the name of Billy
I used to play with him and act pretty silly
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, what was I really

I used to lie in bed listening to the wind blow
Wondering about the places still left to go
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, what did I know

We didn’t last very long in our relation
It was like we were from two different nations
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, what a temptation

I left one day down the long lonely highway
I did it once, I did it twice, my way
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, was it the right way

I fell in love with a girl, her name was Cindy
She loved the country and I, I loved the city
Now I am old and I wonder
Now I am old and I wonder, what a pity

    Waiting

Waiting for that One True Thing
    It’s gonna change Every Thing
Last coin to tilt the scale
Ahab and the Great White Whale
    Will it happen today?
    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.

Will it come like the end of rain
Bees drumming at the window pane
    Soft voices rising, falling
I think I hear my Maker calling
    Will it happen today?
    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.

Will it come like a hammer to the thumb
Curses all the way to Kingdom Come
Have I become the thing I fear
Will there be no one to hear
    Will it happen today
    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.

    Will it sneak up unexpectedly
Like a child in the grocery
Soft hands reaching out with love
Down the aisle with the wine and the Vapor Rub
    Will it happen today
    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.

Will I see it coming my way
Time to get down on my knees and pray
Lead me down the valley wide
Lead me on like a long lost guide
    Will it happen today
    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.

Waiting for that One True Thing

    It’s gonna change Every Thing

Last coin to tilt the scale

Ahab and the Great White Whale

    Will it happen today

    I can’t say. I can’t say. I’m waiting.
